Aidan Key is a sought-after speaker, author, and educator whose gender-related work spans over 25 years. His work has placed him in front of many audiences including kindergartners, superintendents, judges, physicians, teachers, grad students, psychiatrists, and clergy. He is considered a subject matter expert regarding transgender and nonbinary children and adults and has been featured on national and international television, radio, internet, and print media.

Aidan has been awarded over 20 formal accolades for leadership and influence including Seattle Magazine’s Most Influential People of the Year; Huffington Post’s Top 30 LGBTQ Change Makers; Greater Seattle Business Assoc. Humanitarian of the Year Award; Trans 100 Inaugural Member Award; Community Service Lifetime Achievement Award, WA Dept. of Health & Human Services; and a GLAAD Media Nominee for his appearance on the Oprah Winfrey Show.

Oxford University Press has published Aidan’s book Trans Children in Today’s Schools (2023). He is a contributing author to the first two anthology editions of Trans Bodies, Trans Selves (Oxford Univ. Press 2014, 2022) and he co-authored the paper Gender Cognition in Children (Psychological Science, 2015).
